“By her window”

She thought there was still time but he was already gone.

She thought there would be time for them to hug and tell each other how much they still cared.

But there wasn’t.

He was gone before she even got there and that broke her heart.

She didn’t get to say goodbye to the man she’d loved all of her life and that was something she would never recover from.

One day they would meet again, one day she would be able to tell him how much he meant to her.

But until the day comes she will sit by her window and think about that day and she would have said had he still been alive when she got there.
