“Waiting for the rain”

The field lay barren after the summer.

No rain has come for months and the grass and the flowers have withered.

I go on my morning walks and I remember what the fields used to look like.

I remember how they used to be green and covered with flowers.

And I know they can be that way again.

If only the rain would come.

Nice! I love the evocative nature of this – as an Australian, the feeling of walking past a dry-blasted, barren field and reflecting on green memories really speaks to me 🙂
