“None was going to change”

The rates were rising.

There was nothing we could do.

People weren’t going to change the way they lived.

They just weren’t.

Everyone was happy with the way they were living.

So why was there a reason they had to change?

None was going to change unless something happened.

The problem was when something finally happened it was already too late.
