“Bring him back”

Let’s put him back there.

I tried telling them.

I tried telling them that we couldn’t do it like this.

That we couldn’t just take him.

But they wouldn’t listen.

It was too late already.

They had already crossed the line.

There was no turning back for either of them.

But I knew there was a way back.

A way back for me.

All I had to do was bring him back.
