“No turning back”

Why did I want it?

What drew me in?

What could have been so important that I would do the things I’ve done?

Is anything?

I did everything I could.

I lost everything I had.

And now I can’t even remember what it was I wanted.

I try to remember.

But I can’t.

It’s not there anymore.

I guess it was never really there.

I never really knew what it was I wanted.

But I did what I did anyway.

And now there’s no turning back.
