“Not good enough”

Nothing I ever did was good enough.

Nothing.

But I kept trying.

Because I needed his approval.

I wanted his approval.

But he would never give it to me.

He always told me I had to work hard.

But he was never satisfied.

And in the end, when I gave up.

He told me.

“I’m disappointed in you”
