“Out of my control”

I felt I needed to know what was wrong.

I thought there was something I could have done to help.

But I know that was foolish of me, to think that way.

I couldn’t help.

There was nothing I could have done that would have made the situation better.

Nothing.

But I thought there was.

For a long time, I thought there was something I could have done.

But sadly I was mistaken.

I couldn’t have done anything.

And now I will have to find a way to live, knowing it was out of my control.
