“Normal”

I’ve spent a long time trying to figure out what’s wrong with me.

Only to find out that there nothing wrong.

It’s all in my head.

I’m just like everyone else.

I just didn’t want to see it.

I thought I was special.

That I was meant for something more.

That was wrong.

I’m not special.

There’s nothing special about me.

There’s nothing wrong with me.

I’m just like everyone else.

It hurts knowing realizing that something you’ve spent your life believing in was nothing more than fiction.

It hurts when you realize there’s nothing special about you.

That you’re just like everyone else.

It hurts.

But it will also help you move forward.

And get on with your life.

That’s what it did for me.

I’m no longer stuck trying to figure out what’s wrong with me.

What it is that makes me special.

Because I know I’m normal.

I know I’m just like everyone else.

And I’m okay with that.

  1. I’m quite the opposite and I think you are too. I believe there is something special about you —there is something special about everyone. We are all alike but unique. Furthermore, don’t ever try to fit in (being normal) when you were born to stand out. As cliche as it sounds, it’s true. There’s nothing wrong with being different—it would be a boring world if we all were the same. Embrace your difference—that’s where your individual beauty lies. It is only after you’ve accepted your differences that you’ll see the greatness of who you really are.
