The world had been different ever since that day.
Alex had locked himself away in his apartment and hadn’t spoken to anyone in four months.
His friends had tried calling him every day the first month, but slowly, one by one, the calls had stopped.
Alex didn’t care, all he cared about was getting her back. He wanted to hold her again.
He knew it wasn’t possible. She was gone, and he was never going to hold her again. But it was all he could think of.
On his desk, he had a picture of her. A piece of her that he could always look at.
He knew locking himself away like this wasn’t the right thing to do. He knew he should let her go.
But he couldn’t.
Maybe one day he would be able to. Maybe one day he would be able to walk outside and see his friends again without thinking about her. Maybe one day he wouldn’t have to cry himself to sleep.
But for now, all he wanted was to hold her. For now, all he wanted was to remember what it felt like to have her close.
For now, all he wanted was to remember what it felt like to hold her.
